Greetings from the Hamilton Public Library!
In my first week here I have seen plenty activity despite the sub-zero temperatures, from ice fishing on Lake Moraine to skating on the rink behind the village office. The ice rink has been relocated from Triangle Park.
This year is shaping up to be a true winter wonderland! Of course the outdoors aren’t for everyone, and the library has what you need to get you through until spring arrives.
For starters, we have knitted scarves, hats, and mittens courtesy of the Community Action Partnership free to anyone in need warmth. During your visit, you can use our public WiFi, computers, work on a puzzle, play a board game, charge your portable electronic devices and more! Don’t want to leave the house? Access thousands of eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music, television shows, and magazines from your computer, tablet or smartphone. All you have to do is download the apps Libby, Hoopla, or RBDigitial. For more information give us a call or visit our website.
Story time for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, with their care givers, continues at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday mornings. The next one is Jan. 16.
Coming up later this month, we will be hosting “Meet the Director Tea” from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, with me, Travis Olivera. While you’re more than welcome to pop in and meet me informally any time, there will only be refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library at the event - no promises for surprise visits in the office!
For more information on upcoming events at the library, visit our website, like us on Facebook, follow us on Instagram and Twitter (@HamiltonNYLib) or just stop in.
Thank you to everyone for welcoming me into your community. I look forward to working with you all. Hilary left some big shoes to fill; hopefully I can pick up where she left off. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns - by phone at 315-824-3060 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
