Students in ninth through 12th grades can get a leg up on money matters and financial planning by attending Foundations in Personal Finance, a free six-session mini-course to be held at noon the second Saturday of the month from January through June at the Oneida Public Library.
Foundations in Personal Finance: The High-School Edition, a curriculum devised by financial guru Dave Ramsey, presents lessons in financial literacy for beginners through filmed lectures with financial experts and personal workbooks, given free of charge to registered students. Covered are topics such as budgeting, saving, debt, consumer awareness, bargain shopping, careers, charitable donations and taxes.
Students must pre-register by signing up at the OPL check-out desk or by calling 315-363-3050. The Oneida Public Library is located at 220 Broad St., Oneida.
