The Local Music Project closes the fall season Tuesday, Dec. 12, with two fine performing acts, Mark Zane and Barker Blaze.

The evening begins at 7 p.m. with Syracuse singer-songwriter Zane. The struggle of life in old industrial cities can be heard in the songs that appear on his debut 2008 CD titled “American Hunger” which features a blend of folk, rock, and even a little country. The album was nominated for a 2009 SAMMY award in the Americana category.

Featured in the second set is the Cazenovia duo Barker Blaze at 8 p.m. Playing an eclectic mix of songs spanning many decades from artists including Bob Dylan, Toots and the Maytals, Neil Young and many others, Steve Blais’ acoustic guitar work is perfectly enhanced by Dave Barker’s electric lead guitar. Together they create a web of voices that pulse and float expressively.

The Local Music Project provides a venue where top local musicians can play a full concert for an attentive audience. All shows begin at 7 p.m. at No. 10 Tavern in Hamilton; a donation is suggested. For more information, call 315-824-1094.
