The book club met recently to discuss the book "The Storyteller" by Jodi Picoult. It was quite a discussion with everyone having a different view of the book. Some of us did not like it at all while others thought it wasn't too bad.
It is fun during the discussion to hear how others read and find things in the book that some of us didn't really care for.
I find the club interesting and like to hear what others think of the books we read and the authors who write them.
It seems this author writes a lot of these kinds of books and some of us don't care to read any more of hers.
Our next book to read is "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck. This is a book that many students had to read in school. I read this book a long time ago but will read it again so I can remember what it was about.
I think this will be a great discussion. Remember we will not meet until Dec. 16 because the Library Craft Show and Basket Raffle will be held Dec. 9.
Put it on your calendar to come to the craft show as we will have a variety of vendors with nice items to sell.
Mad Red Hatters:
I was the hostess for the November meeting of the Mad Red Hatters; it was our anniversary month. This year we celebrated our 13th year.
With the help of Molly Way I put on a luncheon at the Clark Memorial Library. We enjoyed salad, deviled eggs, sandwiches, punch and I did a fruit trifle for dessert.
It was nice to see some of the members there who helped get the society started. We have grown over the years and now have 20 members.
We will be enjoying our Christmas Party at the home of Eva Idzi.
