Book Club:

We recently held our book discussion on “The Husband’s Secret” by Liane Moriarty. What a great discussion we had. Everyone had the same feelings about the book and we found each of us got something different from the story. On other parts of the book, we all seemed to agree on what we talked about. It was a good book and a fun discussion.

Our next book is “The Storyteller” by Jodi Picoult. I’m sure the discussion on this book will be quite a lot different as it is a very hard book to read. It will be fun to see what others thought of it.

We send happy birthday wishes to Aubrey Alberding III and Terrie Slocum. We hope they each enjoy their special day.

Aubrey and I were saddened when we heard of the passing of Vera Locascio. Vera and Jerry lived in the Oriskany Falls area for many years and at one time she was our village clerk. I know she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this time.

It is now November and we still have the mess from the mill fire. No one has come to try and get it cleaned up before winter. You hear all types of stories about when the cleanup will start but I don’t believe any of them.

If people take time to check the tax records they will see that no taxes have been paid on the property. Now if the owner had plans for a cleanup so he could sell the property wouldn’t you think he would pay his taxes?

I guess the snow will soon come and cover up the mess for the winter.

Weather: We certainly had good weather for a long time and now it is starting to get colder. Many places have been hit by a frost but as I write this my flowers haven’t been. I’m sure it will hit soon It seems snow is coming so I have to finish cleaning up my garden. I don’t like snow but I guess we have to put up with it.
