The Colgate women's ice hockey team traveled to New Hampshire and took a weekend sweep of the Wildcats, winning 7-1 Friday, Nov. 10, and 2-1 Saturday.
Junior Shae Labbe tallied her third career hat trick and first-years Coralie Larose, Jackie Leone and Bailey Bennett all scored their first career goals in Friday’s game. Anonda Hoppner rounded out the scoring with a lone goal with 5:05 to play in the third period. Assists were recorded by Olivia Zafuto, Shelby Perry, Jessie Eldridge (two), Annika Zalewski (two), Shelby Wood, Hoppner, Bennett, and Lauren Wildfang. Julia Vandyk recorded 21 saves in goal.
Breanne Wilson-Bennett scored the game-winning goal with 2:35 remaining in regulation Saturday night. Megan Sullivan scored the 40th goal of her Colgate career and also recorded an assist for the two-point game. Wilson-Bennett also recorded an assist as well as Wildfang and Bailey Larson. Goaltender Vandyk continued to shine between the pipes as she made 22 saves to extend her unbeaten streak to six games.
The Raiders continue their seven-game road trip this weekend with a two-game series beginning in New Haven, Connecticut, at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, against the Yale Bulldogs before traveling to Providence, Rhode Island, to face the Brown Bears at 3 p.m. Saturday.
