Please note - the Smyrna Public Library will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23, for Thanksgiving
We have new additions to our DVD collection. Some of them are “A Beautiful Mind,” “The Choice,” “Dracula Untold,” “Eye in the Sky,” and “50 First Dates.” Stop in and see what else we have!
We were delighted to see so many children come into the library with their passports last month, trying to find Fenway. The Sherburne-Earlville Elementary School has kindly allowed us to keep Fenway, and he can be checked out like any of our other toys. In addition, we have the books by Victoria J. Coe – “Fenway and Hattie” and “Fenway and Hattie and the Evil Bunny Gang.”
Children’s Story Time
Children’s Story Time will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28. We will read funny stories, so come prepared to laugh. Please note the change of day and time from last year. The next Story Time is scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.5.
Barb’s knitting group
The knitting group members went to the Methodist Church for lunch on Election Day. The church always has great meals.
Arlene was ready for another color for her strip afghan, Pam was knitting a holiday cowl, and Kitty was knitting a wreath. Bonnie was knitting her rainbow scarf and I finished my hat.
Kitty said we could solve the world problems, only nobody listens to us. She’s right. Women deal with finance (budgets), wars (children fighting) famine (I'm hungry), diplomacy (I'm sorry, that really doesn't become you), plus we manage our time between home, a job, and community service, and so much more.
The knitters meet from 10 a.m. until noon Tuesday mornings at the Smyrna Library. You are invited to share what your expertise is with us. Maybe we can share ours with you!
The library is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
