The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team compiled 35 team points Saturday, Nov. 4, to claim reserve high point team accolades at their own show hosted at the riding arena on Fearon Road.
Skidmore claimed high point team honors for the day with 45 team points, but the Mustangs posted five blue ribbon winning rides to top RPI by one point, earning reserve honors.
The team rode to a second straight reserve high point team accolades the following, as they collected 43 team point, also in Morrisville.
Skidmore edged the Mustangs for high point team accolades, compiling 45 points, while Albany finished third with 34.
Morrisville State, who had their best showing in the riding arena yet this season, had eight total riders record 11 winning rides, including Abigail VanWinkle who qualified for the high point rider ride-off after earning the double win in the novice equitation over fences and novice on the flat classes. VanWinkle went on to earn reserve high point rider honors for the show.
Two additional Mustangs also qualified for the high point rider ride-off: Casey Warren in intermediate equitation on the flat and over fences classes; and Jen Capone who took home blue ribbons in the novice over fences and on the flat classes.
Sarah Simmons and Marcus Livermore each claimed blue ribbon accolades in the intermediate over fences and intermediate on the flat class, respectively.
Oksana Fett and Jennifer White completed the Morrisville State sweep in the novice over fences class with their winning rides.
Jayci Mieczjowski rounded out top Morrisville State riders with a win in the beginner walk trot canter class.
