The Morrisville State men’s ice hockey team picked up their first win of the 2017-18 season by defeating the Red Dragons of Cortland State 4-3 Friday, Nov. 10, on the road in a State Universities of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) weekend match up.

Ryan Bochert, Jon Kasper, CJ Stubbs, and Ian Wood scored one goal each. Assists were recorded by Nick DeVito, Layne Martin (two), Bradley Hefner, Stevie Ray Adams, and Nick Hautanen. Jared Young recorded 35 saves in goal.

The Mustangs could not overcome a 3-goal second period Saturday night from the Red Dragons, falling 5-2 in the game.

Stubbs and Jimmy Philbin were credited with one goal each and Hefner, John Lauer, and Martin recorded one assist each. Young recorded 32 saves in goal.

Morrisville will continue with their SUNYAC schedule next weekend, hosting the Geneseo Knights at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, and at 4 p.m. Saturday.
