UTICA — Utica Common Council candidate Lou Poccia, running to represent the First Ward, will host daily office hours starting Monday, Oct. 16.

Hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon at 10-12 Liberty St., Utica. Poccia is set to appear on the Republican, Conservative, Reform and the No Hospital Downtown party lines, according to a release.

“I want voters to know I've signed the '#NoHospitalDowntown' pledge, meaning I'll work and vote to have Mohawk Valley Health System build their regional Oneida County hospital at St. Luke's and not in Downtown Utica," Poccia said in a statement. "I’m against urban renewal threatening historic city assets and even more so against the disruption and eminent domain facing many businesses in Downtown Utica.”

The seat is currently held by Councilwoman Maria Pezzolanella-McNiel.
