The union representing members of the Rome Police Department has endorsed Jule Giruzzi-Mosca in her bid for Oneida County Family Court judge, her campaign announced Friday.
The Democratic candidate was notified by Michael Uhl, president of the Philip S. McDonald Police Benevolent Association, in an emailed statement, according to Friday's statement. She has also been endorsed by the Central New York Labor Council, the United Food and Commercial Workers, International Brotherhood of Teamsers, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Working Families Party.
“I am grateful for the support of this large and important union of police officers,” Giruzzi-Mosca said in a statement. “Since the very beginning my campaign has emphasized the need to elect someone from a working-class background to Family Court. I am honored by the confidence so many labor organizations have shown in my candidacy.”
Giruzzi-Mosca, a Marcy resident, has more than 17 years of legal experience with a private practice based in Utica.
