NEW HARTFORD — The first HomeGoods store of the Utica market is opening Sunday, Oct. 22, in Sangertown Square in New Hartford, according to a news release from the retailer, and is expected to provide 65 full- and part-time positions for local residents.

HomeGoods is a home decor retailer specializing in merchandise "for every room of the house,” according to the release. The retailer sells a variety of products that include home furniture and kitchen appliances, as well as items for pets, the workplace and outdoor living. It lauds itself for offering prices “significantly less than department and specialty stores.”

“Our high-quality merchandise at incredible prices allows shoppers to express themselves through their décor and create a home that truly reflects who they are for less than they expect,” John Ricciuti, president of HomeGoods, said in the release. “We are thrilled to provide New Hartford shoppers with this exhilarating shopping experience.”

The store will hire for management and associate positions.

Regular store hours will be 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Special Grand Opening Day hours will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
