A school bus driver distracted by a student drove the bus into a ditch Friday morning, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
No one was seriously hurt, deputies said.
At 7:05 a.m., deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on McConnellsville Road at the intersection with Main Street in the town of Vienna.
Jeffrey Moore, 63, of Camden, was driving a Camden Central School District bus south on McConnellsville Road when he failed to stay on the roadway as he was distracted by a student, deputies said. Moore drove down into a ditch on the west side of the road and then struck a culvert beforethe bus came to rest.
The school district and the parents of the students involved were contacted and responded to the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
