ILION — Maria Kelso, candidate for the 101st Assembly District, has accepted the endorsement of the United Mine Workers of America Local 717, the Remington Arms Ilion plant employee union.
"I am honored to receive and proud to accept the endorsement of the UMWA Local 717," said Kelso in a news release. "It will be my privilege to represent and work with Remington employees and their families going forward. As a gun owner myself, there is no issue more important to me than the full repeal of the New York State SAFE Act. And as a concealed carry permit holder in 39 states, I will continue to vigorously defend our Second Amendment rights against all those who seek to erode them."
Kelso is also endorsed by the Conservative and Reform parties of New York state.
Kelso has an A-rating from the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, an A-Rating from SCOPE and an A-Q rating from the NRA, of which she is a lifetime member, according to the release.
