ILION — The United Mine Workers of America Local 717, the Remington Arms employee’s union, has announced its endorsement of Republican nominee Vincent A. Enea for District 3 coroner.
"I am honored to accept the endorsement of UMWA Local 717. I have served as the Herkimer County coroner, District 3, since 2011, and it is a privilege to work on behalf of my community and support them in any way that I can," said Enea in a news release. "Having worked and operated my own businesses in both the village of Herkimer and the city of Little Falls for many years of my life, I know first-hand the needs and concerns of my community members."
A county coroner job entails responding to and investigating unattended, accidental, sudden, violent and unexpected deaths and works closely with law enforcement and county officials to determine a final cause of death.
Enea is a lifelong resident of Herkimer and has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since May 1982. According to the release, Enea remains active with various industry associations and his main focus is helping the families get through a difficult time.
Enea is also endorsed by the Herkimer County Republican Committee.
