Goalkeeper Maria Krull continued to shine for the Colgate field hockey team as she made a season-high 14 saves Sunday, Sept. 4, in the Raiders’ 2-0 loss to the Saint Francis Red Flash at Degol Field in Loretto, Pennsylvania.
The Raiders and Red Flash went into halftime scoreless with Krull making 10 saves. Saint Francis drew 12 first half penalty corners, but the Raiders kept them off the board turning away each one.
Whitney Jones tallied the Raiders only shot of the game nearly 13 minutes into the game but it was saved by Red Flash goalkeeper Elizabeth Dyer to keep the game knotted 0-0.
The Raiders head back out on the road this weekend as they travel to Evanston, Illinois, for a pair of games at Northwestern. Colgate will face the Ball State Cardinals at 11 a.m. CST on Saturday, Sept. 10, before taking on the nationally ranked No. 16 Northwestern Wildcats at noon CST on Sunday.
