Bring the family to the annual Cruisin’ Into Waterville beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, throughout the village of Waterville. The first event was held in 2005 to celebrate the completion of a major two-year construction project through the heart of downtown.
Start the day off with the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m., hosted by Sanger Lodge No. 129 F&AM. Other events throughout the day include the Cruisin Kids Run at 8 a.m., Mary Cleary Memorial Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m., followed by a car show from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m., an all-day softball tournament, zoomobile that begins at noon, and much more.
The 11th Annual Cruisin’ Into Waterville Parade steps off at noon and makes it way down Main Street/Route 12. This year’s theme will be “Let’s turn the town Purple and Gold” and everyone is encouraged to join in the fun.
Activities will continue with an afternoon full of events featuring musical entertainment in three locations - the Downtown Stage, on the Village Bandstand and at the Firemen’s Pavilion; a craft fair and farmers’ market; and plenty of things to eat. Serving for the chicken barbecue begins at noon and continues until sold out and the chili cook-off will be held from 4 to 6 p.m.
As usual, admission is free but there is a charge for some events. Parking will be available at both the Waterville Elementary and Junior/Senior High schools, as well as at C&H Plastics. Visit www.CruisinIntoWaterville.com. For more information and the full Cruisin’ Into Waterville schedule.
