HERKIMER — Herkimer County District Attorney Jeff Carpenter has received an additional endorsement in his bid for re-election.

Carpenter, who has held the position since 2012, was endorsed by the New York State Police Investigators Association, which represents more than 1,500 active and retired members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

The association wrote in a notice they have "great confidence" in his "ability and foresight" as district attorney.

Carpenter called the endorsement a "true honor."

"To have their support is not only humbling, but also a true testament to the value of the relationships I have with the BCI members with whom I work so closely with on a daily basis," he said. "And I thank them for all that they do to keep our citizens safe."

The general election is Nov. 8, and the primary is Sept. 13.

Carpenter is running against former District Attorney and Supreme Court Justice Mike Daley.
