ILION — The price for Food Sense packages has increased to $20.50.

Customers will receive increased quality of food, variety of food, more specials’ options and an introduction to the pantry box, produce box and protein box as "specials," according to a news release.

Food Sense is a food co-op program offered through the Food Bank of Central New York and local nonprofits. There are no restrictions. Everyone qualifies.

Registration will take place at the First Presbyterian Church, 90 Morgan St. Ilion, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sept. 12 to Sept. 16. The delivery date is Sept. 30.

The list of foods for the September Food Sense package includes 2.5 lbs. chicken breasts; 1 lb. meatballs; 1 lb. Swai fillets; 1 lb. Italian sausage; 12 oz. veal patties; 8 oz. mozzarella cheese; 13 oz. cheese ravioli; 11 oz. rice with vegetables; 15 oz. diced tomatoes; 15 oz. applesauce and two fresh produce items.

The specials for September are 2 lbs. stuffed pork chops for $7.50; 2 lbs. meatloaf for $7; 2.5 lbs. onion rings for $5.50; 3 lbs. breaded shrimp for $13.50; 10 lbs. barbecued boneless chicken chunks for $14; 5 lbs. macaroni and beef for $9; 10 lbs. Pantry Box for $10, which includes pancake mix, cereal, elbow pasta, spaghetti sauce, canned crushed tomatoes, apple juice, peanut butter, jelly and mandarin oranges.
