The Hamilton Village Board of Trustees will hold an informational meeting to discuss proposed changes to the current Village Zoning Code at 7 p.m. Sept. 1 (tonight) at Hamilton Central School. The board will then hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Sept. 20 at the village courthouse, 60 Montgomery Street, to consider a proposed local law that will repeal and re-enact Chapter 174 of the code. Interested persons will be given the opportunity to speak at the public hearing.

According to village officials, the local law would enact a revised zoning code and also amend the Village Zoning Map in accordance with the recommendations of the Village Zoning Review Committee. If approved, the law will establish new zoning districts and regulations throughout the village. It would also amend certain definitions and add new definitions to the zoning code as well as amending the schedules of permitted uses.

The complete copy of the proposed local law can be reviewed village clerk’s office. The village office is located on Broad Street in downtown Hamilton. For more details, call 315-824-1111.
