And just like that summer came to a screeching halt! But wait! That only means new and different things at the Earlville Free Library!
The After School Program begins soon with Angelica coordinating it this year. The program is for children ages 9 to 13. We meet from about 3:15 (when the bus drops the children off) to 5 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. There is snack provided, homework time (with help when needed), and then lots of time for team building, crafts, games, and more. It’s guaranteed to be a lot of fun. And here is the best part – It’s Free! Please stop in for more information, and to pick up a registration form. The program begins Sept. 12.
The knitting group continues to meet from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays. There are about six ladies that attend faithfully, but we would love to add to that number. Even though this is called a “Knitting Group,” there are people who crochet or even do hand quilting. So don’t hesitate to come if you aren’t a knitter - bring your handcraft and join us.
Friday is Story Time day! We have preschool story time at 11 a.m. every Friday. There are no age restrictions or requirements - just stop in and enjoy. It’s a relaxing time to introduce children to the joy of reading. If your toddler doesn’t sit still well, that’s okay. They are listening even when they are building a puzzle or playing with the puppets. There is time for socializing as well, both for the children and the parent/caregivers.
The library will be closed on Labor Day, Sept. 5. No items will be due that day. DVDs checked out on Friday will not be due until Tuesday. (You get 2 extra days!) The drop box will be available if you have items that need to be dropped off!
See you at the library!
