Dear Readers,

This has been a rough week for me so my sense of humor is in low gear right now. On Monday, I had to call an ambulance for my husband Jerry because he barely could breathe and couldn't walk. As it turned out, he had pneumonia, He is 68 years old and was in intensive care until Wednesday afternoon. He was released from the hospital yesterday, which was Thursday afternoon. For the past few days, I've been running on empty. I've learned that it is exhausting caring for a loved one who is seriously ill. My heart goes out to caregivers who live with a spouse or parent ill on a chronic basis. Jerry will recover from his illness with time, but it's hard now to say to exactly what extent.

So for now, I will bid you a fond goodnight so I will rest.
